What are my qualifications as a copywriter and video producer?
I’ve been telling stories for nonprofits for over five years. From Greyhound rescue to hearing healthcare to Syrian refugees, I’ve traveled the world capturing and retelling stories that warm donor’s hearts.
In addition to that, I have over 25 years experience writing and producing award-winning videos for NASA, TRW/ESL and other companies in the high tech industry.
I’ve become adept at interviewing subject matter experts, and researching and assimilating a wide range of topics. Then I turn all of that information into poignant on-target letters, web content and videos that will resonate with your donors.
What kinds of projects do I handle?
I offer fundraising letters and packages for acquisition or from house files, fundraising emails, fundraising and promotional videos from small to large budgets, video scripts, web pages and more. Go to my Services page for more detailed information.
Do I offer consulting services?
Yes, I offer consulting services. Whether it’s brainstorming what to put in a video or how to improve your website and fundraising letters, I’m happy to talk with you about these projects. In many cases, I’ll do a free 20 minute consultation just to get the ball rolling.
Your fee lists a price for Copy Critique, what’s that?
Copy critique is a critical look at your current copy. For example, how easy is it to read? Does it tell your story effectively? Is your brochure confusing? Do your pieces have a clear call to action?
Sometimes the simplest changes can make the biggest differences in your fundraising materials.
Speaking of money, what does it cost to hire you for a project?
You’ll find a list of my services and fees under the services button. My fee is based on how many hours it would take to research and complete your project. I prefer to work on a fixed bid rate. This keeps me on track and doesn’t leave you with any surprises when it comes to billing.

How long will it take me to write your copy?
For written projects, depending on how much research is involved, how many people I need to interview, the complexity of the project and my current workload, it can take from 2 – 14 days.
Videos typically take about 3-4 weeks, since those include preproduction planning, production days, editing time (cutting 20 hours of footage down to 5 perfect minutes takes a little while!) color correction, music editing and audio sweetening.
What happens if we want to revise our copy?
You’ll have plenty of chances to make revisions as we go through your project. Typically I expect 2-3 drafts of a project before we get to a final draft. And the same holds for the video productions as well. I want you to be happy with the finished product.
